Wu Zhiguo, Chief Physician, graduated in clinical medicine from Jiamusi Medical College in 2001 and has worked in clinical care, teaching and research in orthopedics for more than 25 years. He worked for many years in orthopedics at a municipal public Class A tertiary hospital, successively serving as Deputy Director of Orthopedics, Orthopedics Teaching Secretary, Orthopedics Supervisor of a national standardized residency training base, examiner for the national medical licensing examination and head of the orthopedic hand and foot surgery group; he now serves as Director of the First Ward of Orthopedics at Yida Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai University.
He has undertaken advanced training at renowned orthopedic hospitals across China on many occasions, with a solid grounding in orthopedic theory and extensive clinical experience, and a thorough command of the standardized diagnosis and treatment of common, frequently occurring and difficult orthopedic conditions. He performs more than 300 orthopedic operations a year on average and has taken part in more than 6,000 orthopedic operations of various kinds in total, accumulating extensive clinical experience in spine surgery, trauma orthopedics, joint surgery and microsurgery.
He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative spinal conditions, including the standardized diagnosis and treatment of cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis and lumbar spondylolisthesis; and skillfully performs trauma orthopedic procedures such as replantation of severed fingers (limbs), complex intra-articular limb fractures and minimally invasive treatment of hip fractures in the elderly.
He also specializes in total hip and knee replacement and the surgical treatment of peripheral nerve conditions (carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome), and can develop individualized treatment plans according to the patient's condition, providing precise, safe and efficient orthopedic care.
He has long worked in clinical orthopedic care and related research, receiving 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 3 third prizes for municipal scientific achievement; he has published 16 academic papers in national and provincial core journals, accumulating considerable research achievements in the diagnosis, treatment and clinical practice of orthopedic conditions.
