In April 2026, a delegation from Shanghai Yida Hospital (Yida Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai University) was invited to Indonesia to visit the National Cardiovascular Center of Indonesia (National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita).

As a national-level center for cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment and research directly under the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the National Cardiovascular Center of Indonesia is a highly influential benchmark institution for cardiovascular specialty care in Southeast Asia. It takes on important responsibilities including formulating national standards for cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment, leading technological development, training professionals and providing charitable care, and is also the core referral center for difficult and complex cardiovascular cases in Indonesia.

The center has outstanding clinical strength, with its annual volume of interventional and surgical procedures for conditions such as complex coronary heart disease and valve disease ranking first in Indonesia; complex cardiovascular cases account for more than 70%. At the same time, the care system it has built covers 54 network hospitals across 34 provinces, and it has led the formulation of national standards for diagnosis and treatment. It was named Indonesia's Best Specialty Hospital at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2023, and its related management and health promotion programs have received international recognition.

During the exchange, the two sides reached a consensus on clinical technology and research cooperation, and shared experience focusing on key areas such as complex coronary interventions and pediatric congenital heart disease. The two sides plan to jointly hold academic symposiums and research projects, build a channel for personnel exchange and send core physicians to each other for study, and work together to advance cross-border charitable aid and provide patients with higher-quality medical services.
