International Academic Exchange | The 2nd Session of the Advanced “Mentorship” Training Program in Minimally Invasive Coronary Surgery Concludes
Recently, Associate Professor Tha Doe Thein Zan, Director of Cardiac Surgery at Mandalay General Hospital, completed a week of specialized training at the Clinical Research Institute of Cardiovascular Disease, School of Medicine, Shanghai University / the Department of Cardiac and Great Vessel Surgery of Shanghai Yida Hospital and graduated successfully, becoming the first international trainee of the advanced "mentorship" training program in minimally invasive coronary surgery!

The training centered on two frontier fields, "off-pump bypass technology" and "artificial heart technology", as its core teaching content, while systematically extending to comprehensive diagnostic and treatment techniques for "structural heart disease" and "congenital heart disease". The teaching was arranged along a progressive path from simulation to clinical practice: each day's course began with highly realistic bionic simulation training and moved step by step to demonstrations of real operations and detailed case reviews, combined with daily clinical ward rounds for multidimensional, immersive learning, comprehensively improving trainees' specialized skills and overall clinical decision-making ability.

The program was initiated by Professor Wan Feng, National Renowned Doctor and Foreign Academician, and adopts a private-tutoring style training model of "one-to-one mentorship", aiming to build a platform for learning and exchange for outstanding cardiac surgeons at home and abroad. In the future, the program will continue to focus on training professionals at home and abroad, drive the high-quality improvement of cardiovascular medical technology, and support the coordinated development of cardiovascular care in the region and worldwide.
