Chen Chang

He graduated from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1999 and worked at Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital after graduation; he undertook advanced training many times at renowned hospitals including Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital in Beijing, Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Zhongda Hospital in Nanjing; in 2008 he joined Shanghai Yuanda Cardiothoracic Hospital as Director of the Intensive Care Unit.
He now works in clinical care, teaching and research in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Shanghai Yida Hospital, where he currently performs perioperative monitoring for all types of cardiac and great vessel surgery, and provides services including hemodynamic monitoring and support for critically ill patients, ventilator support for respiratory dysfunction, continuous renal replacement therapy, and nutritional and metabolic support for critically ill patients.
The emergency care and treatment of various clinical emergencies and critical conditions: the rescue and treatment of critically ill patients with cardiac and respiratory arrest, all types of shock, hypertensive emergencies, acute coronary syndrome, acute and chronic cardiac insufficiency, malignant arrhythmia, acute respiratory failure, acute and chronic renal failure, gastrointestinal insufficiency and upper gastrointestinal bleeding, severe acid-base imbalance and electrolyte abnormalities, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe infection, and multiple organ dysfunction;
The perioperative treatment of cardiac and great vessel surgical conditions, including the preoperative and postoperative management of various severe cardiac conditions such as all types of complex congenital heart disease, elderly patients, young low-birth-weight infants, severe coronary heart disease, severe heart valve disease, great vessel disease, cardiac cachexia, cardiac insufficiency and cases complicated by severe pulmonary hypertension. He has experience in postoperative monitoring and management of nearly 20,000 cardiac cases.
