Recently, the 106th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) was held on a grand scale in Chicago. Professor Wan Feng (National Renowned Doctor and Foreign Academician of France) of the Department of Cardiac and Great Vessel Surgery at Shanghai Yida Hospital (Yida Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai University) was invited to attend this international academic event.

As a professional academic feast in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, the AATS annual meeting has long been known as the "Oscars of cardiothoracic surgery", drawing experts and scholars from many countries to gather together for in-depth discussion and exchange of experience on frontier technological breakthroughs, clinical innovations, new ideas in diagnosis and treatment and future directions of development in the field.

At this annual meeting, teams of Chinese experts presented a number of research achievements covering key fields including aortic surgical care, the care of congenital heart disease and the care of atrial fibrillation. The achievements reflect the frontier exploration of Chinese experts in cardiothoracic surgical research and clinical technological innovation, and demonstrate their international influence.
